For the fourth year, I got the treat of spending an afternoon taking outdoor family photos with Mr. R and Miss E (and their parents, of course)! These kids are definitely some of my favorite people around! They are so cute, and so sweet– and always excited to play and take pictures! Taking advantage of the extraordinary beauty of the autumn leaves, we explored areas of Chagrin were every turn provided a new picturesque backdrop! You just need to watch out for Mr. Water Snake, right guys?!?

So much fun playing in the leaves!
Miss E treated me to an original song she composed for me. I think it should be #1!!!
Here is a sample of the new and improved video slideshows we’re presenting your photos with…! This video is from a outdoor location session that was part Bar Mitzvah photos, part family photos, and part child portraits. These videos have been a huge hit in the studio– so many people have wanted to take them home with them, give them as gifts to grandparents, or even post them to Facebook, that we’ve added them to our product line!
Check it out!
My brother and sister-in-law innocently left me home with their 10-day old newborn baby boy… Surprise surprise, I took it upon myself to turn their back yard construction site into our very own natural light studio backdrop! The warm summer day provided a comfortable environment for my adorable little nephew, and aside from his displeasure in being repositioned every two minutes, he was a great model! While I love the studio’s fine-art approach to newborn photos, the outdoor & natural light environment provides a fun alternative– and an endless supply of props!
My brother’s response when I showed him the pictures?? ”No you didn’t… I never would have let you do that.” He loved them! They’re coming in the studio tonight for their “official” newborn portrait session.
Here are some of my favorite shots!

I first met this little one when she and her parents came into the studio for her newborn photo session– we had such a hard time picking a birth announcement design, we ended up printing both! I was lucky enough to get to photograph her again a few weeks ago at 9 months… This last photo session was done at her home– It was so great to have her dog, her clothes, and oh yes, her jewels all take part in the fun! She was in a pretty serious mood that day, but what a personality! She’s a rock star!!

Ready for my close-up!

Did someone say Diva?!?
The nicer weather is starting to peek around the corner…
Around here, that means it’s time for outdoor photography! The studio is always a great option for family portraits, but the Cleveland area offers so many beautiful locations for child and family photography sessions. The Metro-parks, Botanical Gardens, the shores of Lake Erie, or at home in your own back-yard… the possibilities are endless!
