I sometimes like to get a coffee from Dunkin Donuts on my way into work, today was one of those days. Except what I didn’t know was that today is national doughnut day, which means no coffee for me. I couldn’t even squeeze my small car into the drive thru line and forget parking, the small lot was completely full. Regardless, I was happy to hear that there has been a day devoted to one of my favorite treats. Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme have been giving away free doughnuts today but that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in this tasty sweet from somewhere in else in town. Presti’s has some of the best doughnuts and is local to Cleveland. Right in the heart of Little Italy, Presti’s would be a great place to visit this weekend while strolling through the streets during Little Italy’s tri-annual Art Walk. The Art Walk will begin today and continue through the weekend until Sunday at 6pm. What could be better than some doughnuts, a chance to see and/or purchase some beautiful art and enjoy the sunny (keeping my fingers crossed) weather here in Cleveland?! We hope you have a sweet and possibly sticky weekend!

Anyone that has had a kid’s session with Kim knows that she has some incredibly unconventional ways to steal a smile from the grumpiest of faces. The other day I was working up in our lofted office and could overhear all of the happenings in the studio. Kim was photographing a brother and sister and the three of them were having a fabulous laughter-filled moment that was guaranteed to produce genuine smiles on film (rather, digital sensor). These two kids were totally enthralled by Kim’s magic and I just had to eavesdrop a little more to hear exactly what she was saying to create such vivacious roars and laughing fits…

POOP! Yup, it was #2. Apparently this word can be used in a multitude of different ways all producing raging fits of laughter. These kids were rolling on the floor and enjoying every moment of their session with Kim all because of a little touch of potty humor!!! Unfortunately, I too was caught up in this shenanigan and found myself to be laughing along. Perhaps it was the contagious effect of laughter that caused me to giggle, or maybe it was Kim’s perfectly cheerful tone and delivery. I’m not sure, but what I am sure of is that Kim was able to use one word to create picture perfect memories. Now you try to say “poop” with a straight face!!

Here is a sneak peek at just one of the best laughs from that day…

Hurry up and pick up the phone our mini sessions are ALMOST GONE!! This weekend we will be at the Pepper Pike Playmatters taking fabulous photos of your children for only $20… and that includes a FREE 5×7 and online proofing! Playmatters is also giving a free $5 gift certificate to you for each of your sessions! We also have just a few openings left in Solon and Shaker Square, and as always we dish em’ out on a first come first served basis… so make your appointments right now! On a serious note there really are only like 7 mini sessions left… I’m just saying.

For those of you seeking some tips on making your 10 minutes with Kim perfect… I have compiled a tiny list of to-dos that might be helpful.

If you have 2 children, book 3 sessions. The deal is so fabulous that you can get individual shots and a group shot. This rule applies to any number of children really… plus you get 1 FREE 5×7 with each mini session! Duplicate copies of the image Kim chooses are only $15, so make Grandma and Grandpa’s day!

If you are doing a group shot try to make the outfits mesh well… don’t sweat making everyone match. Just have them all wear outfits that compliment each other. (i.e. Brights with Brights and Pastels with Pastels)

A lint roller and wet wipes can save the day. Pet hair and chocolate milk mustaches do not a good photo make.

Check out the dates and times listed HERE and give us a call!
