I have always felt more comfortable behind the lens rather than in front of it, and my family often mocks my inability to smile naturally in pictures… so I was a little nervous about how our engagement photos were going to turn out. I had no doubts that Kim is a great photographer, but would I be able to “perform” rather then help her with the lighting?
I now realize that I had nothing to worry about. Kim has the ability to make anyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and capture the real moments that show who her subjects are, rather than making them look posed and stiff. I have seen her do this time and time again with couples, families, kids, babies, teenagers, new parents, and even pets… why should this time be any different? It wasn’t. Jeff and I had such a good time and could not be happier with how our pictures turned out, so thanks Kim! We can’t wait to see what crazy ideas you come up with for our wedding photos!
Leslie and Guy’s awesome flip book photo album arrived earlier this week and the materials they chose for the cover turned out so cool that we had to share it with all of you! Their custom Finao album has “Saturday Night Special” for the main material and “deSade” for the stripe down the middle. We can’t wait to photograph this fun couple’s wedding in May and then find out what cover they will choose for their wedding album. Below are some of our favorite shots from their engagement session.
Tomorrow we get to photograph the wedding of Robyn and Eddie, but wanted to share a few great shots from their recent engagement photo session! This couple is a lot of fun, and we wanted their photos to show it. While we were down to the wire with getting their engagement photos taken before the wedding date arrived, they’ll love having photos that show them how they are in their normal life.
Tomorrow will be another opportunity to have fun and get great photos of this dynamic couple — and we can’t wait!

To one of my favorite couples. . . Congratulations on your up coming wedding! You two have been a pleasure to work with throughout your engagement!
As most of you know, I have only been with Kim Ponsky Photography a short while. Matt and Monica were one of the first couples I have seen throughout the KPP process. From scheduling their engagement session to an ordering session (or 2) and now production. When the couple came in for their first ordering session Monica began to blush and explained to me how she is “so not photogenic” and she said she was nervous to see her images. (If only I had a dollar for every time I heard this!) I assured her that she was crazy because she and the images were amazing! Needless to say, the couple loved the images and we have spent some time figuring out to how to best show them off! Invitations, albums, wall art, oh my. . . the options are nearly endless!
Moral of this story is just be yourself. . . Let go and and let your photographer. . . Kim has the amazing ability to capture your most candid self. She only needs 1/200 of a second to capture the moments we all hold so dear! It doesn’t hurt to work with such a gorgeous couple either! ;)
Congratulations again you two! Best wishes on the road ahead!
Last Thursday, I was pretty nervous, and no, not about Lebron. Kim asked me if I would take a few engagement photos of her and her fiance. She photographs. I edit. That’s how it’s suppose to be. But no no. Kim insisted I could take on her task of capturing great pics. So here are a few. Should I keep my job as an editor? Or take a shot at being a photographer? You can be the judge. Comment. I would love to get some constructive criticism.
Congrats guys! I love you both!
