Christmas in July

147 days until Christmas or the we look at it 147 days until you’re holiday cards need to go out! (well a few days less than that since you have to take into account mailing time). If you know that you would like to send out holiday cards this season, give us a call so we can put you on the calendar. The earlier you schedule the better. Many of our clients love to use outdoor photos from either their summer or fall shoots. To be honest, I don’t blame them. Who wouldn’t want to receive a beautiful, clear sky, outdoor family portrait taken in Cleveland while snow falls and ice covers the streets in December? It’s just a sweet reminder of what we had not too long ago and will be waiting a long time to see again. So, although we have had nice weather for the last week, don’t count on it staying that way for much longer. Take advantage of the few short months we have. It doesn’t hurt just to pick a date because just in case it rains we can always push back the shoot to another (possibly rain-free) day. And just to get your wheels turning, below are a few examples of the various custom designed photo holiday cards we have designed…

Star Spangled Sprinkles

Ok, so just as a side note, I, Michelle, have written the last couple of posts. So just to be clear, I am the one who loves Randy our UPS guy, not Kim. Kim is still very much in love with her fiance :)

But back to what we’re really here to talk about…sprinkles! There’s really no better time to talk about them than July 4th weekend or…my birthday :) (but that’s a long time from now). I’ve always loved sweets and anything small and colorful, making sprinkles the perfect decorative and delicious addition to the small treat. They’re perfect to use as small bursts of color on your holiday desserts.

I woke up this morning at 8am and the first thing that came to my mind were cupcakes. I had the biggest craving for them. So I couldn’t help going to Giant Eagle and getting a half dozen vanilla cupcakes with RED, WHITE, and BLUE sprinkles. Not to mention a tall non fat peppermint mocha with no whip :) Who could ask for a better start to a Friday morning. Oh and it was bright and sunny. Not to often we start days like that in Cleveland. As the day went on and I had my fill of sugar, I came to find out that I wasn’t the only one that loved cupcakes, so did little J who by the why isn’t even 1 yet! Father’s Day

Bar Mitzvah Madness!

I photographed my cousin’s Bar Mitzvah in a very non-traditional way… it was done in installments– the party first, and then this past weekend, about a month after the big day, we finally did his Bar Mitzvah portraits. The weather was amazing, so after we took the pictures in the synagogue, but before everyone was tired of smiling, we went outside and took some great family photos. I tell families all the time that occasions like Bar/Bat Mitzvahs are great times to get updated family portraits– everyone has fresh haircuts and is looking their best, and it’s a chance to get out-of-town’ers and the whole gang together.

Everyone seemed to let loose during the outdoor family portraits– we had so much fun! I suggested they toss their youngest brother in the air, and… they did! Sorry JoJo! They were all such great sports, and we got some great shots!

Mother’s Day Family Photo Session

My sister-in-law & her sister asked me to take family photos as a great Mother’s Day gift to their Mom! The weather was amazing, and the Shaker Heights setting was incredible! We had so much fun! We yelled out so many fun kinds of food to get her 4-year-old niece to smile, that my pregnant sister-in-law told me that she left the session starving! Haha!
