So I know that these blog posts should be primarily about either our photos or our studio, but sometimes there are exceptions. It’s September. That means several things this year. Just like any other September, it marks the beginning of Fall, the 22nd this year to be exact. It also marks the beginning of NFL and college football seasons. GO BROWNS! and GO BUCKS! There is also Labor Day…to most of us that means a day off! WoooHooo….and in the midst of it all there is a lot of fun things going on in Cleveland. I’ve come to see all the great things Cleveland has to offer this month all because of one VERY VERY VERY special day that will be happening this Labor Day weekend…Kim’s wedding! Kim has spent countless hours these last few months putting together what will be the most spectacular wedding of the year and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it! In the process she has compiled a list of fun things for her out of town guests to do while they are in town. For those of you who are new to the city or who have lived here for years and have just never explored some of these events, here is a list of some things going on this weekend and month:
Geauga County Fair
Cleveland Air Show
Rock Hall Ball: 15th Anniversary Celebration
Taste of Cleveland
Kathy Griffin @ PHS
Sublime w/ Rome & Dirty Heads @ Time Warner Cable Ampitheater
11 th Annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party & Tour
Sparx City Hop
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
12th Annual Taste of the Browns @ Browns Stadium
Crosby, Stills & Nash @ Time Warner Cable Ampitheater
Back to School Jam w/ Young Jeezy & Friends @ the Wolstein Center
United Way Event @ Barley House
Oh and more recently, Kim and I, discovered a new and exciting place that somehow we were never aware of until now. And, again it’s all thanks to her wedding planning! Even though we have yet to step foot into this wonderful candyland and no joke, it is candyland. B.A Sweetie Candy is the largest candy store in the USA!!! One more thing that makes Cleveland that much greater! I’m sure once I have my first experience there I will share it with all of you unless you beat me to it.
Do something new and different this month. So while Kim is beginning her new life as a married woman maybe make this month the beginning of your new appreciation for living in Cleveland. Cleveland does have wonderful things to offer so go out and enjoy them, at least before summer is over!
A completely relaxed bride, a fun bridal party, and a summer day without a cloud in the sky… Those were some of the components that made up Rich and Eileen’s amazing wedding day at Inn Walden in Aurora, Ohio. I laughed a lot throughout this wedding day– from the Cleveland Indians garter, the bride and groom lookalike bobble-heads, the giant mud puddle I happened to crawl into while photographing the couple, to the bee’s nest below the bridesmaids… We had a lot of fun, and got great bridal portraits and wedding photos! Rich and Eileen allowed for plenty of time in the day’s schedule, which made it a whole lot easier. Here are some of my favorites from their wedding photos!
August was a great month– filled with weddings, lots of pregnancy and newborn sessions, and tons of family photos, both in the studio and outdoors with natural light! Here is a slideshow featuring a little bit of every photo session from August 2009. Can’t wait to see what September brings…!
Last Sunday was a great day! It began with the birth of my newest nephew, and continued on with the beautiful wedding of Rachel and A.J! The weather cooperated for us, and we were able to get awesome wedding photos both inside and outside at Landerhaven. Highlights from the night included a candy bar that I couldn’t walk by without snagging a malted milk ball (shhhh!) and the awesome tunes of IMAGES band (www.ohioweddingmusic.com)!
Here are some of my favorite bridal & wedding party photos…
Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day, guys! Enjoy your honeymoon, and we’ll look at the rest of your wedding photos when you return.
Despite a grim weather report, the sun came out for this couple on their wedding day, and everything was beautiful at Firestone Country Club. With their family all around them, the bride and groom were cool as cucumbers– Jenn even took over when the make-up artist didn’t show up! This wedding was all about the marriage, and family– the way it should be– stress free, and full of love. It was so much fun, and a pleasure to be a part of. Especially when I got pulled on the dance floor at the end of the night!
Although many couples are reluctant to see each other before the ceremony, I strongly encourage it. The extra time allows us to take our time with the wedding photography, and really get the best shots. If it’s the emotional reaction to seeing the bride in her dress you want, we are able to “stage” it much better given the proper setting. Then, after the wedding, you don’t have to rush away from all the hugs and kisses!
Here are some of my favorite pre-ceremony portraits of Scott & Jenn!
Thanks for letting me photograph you wedding, guys– It was such a great time! I can’t wait to show you all the great shots when you return from your “family-moon!”
