As I travel around, I am constantly worried that I’m going to trip or run into something, as I’m typically walking around with my eyes pointed at everything around me… With cameras in hand, Sagi and I have done our best to capture some of the amazing sights we’re seeing… Here are a few.

Well, this blog post is LONG overdue… and for that, I apologize!
When I promised to post pictures online the week of their wedding, I was not considering the chaos that would take over my life before heading to Europe for my workshops… so, alas… here are some shots from Kathryn & Mike’s wedding.
This was such a fun day for us. We not only made new friends, but had a bridal party that was more than willing to indulge us on every whim! From walking across muddy parks, to jumping off swings (ok, that was NOT our idea!!), to working quickly downtown to get the bride and groom some amazing shots — this group was all about it! But let’s not steer the focus away from the stars of the day… Kathryn was my hero as she held her cool despite some hiccups throughout the day– no limo, no problem! She was a picture perfect bride throughout the day, and we had a great time. Mike, you weren’t so bad yourself! :-)
I hope married life is treating you great!
Share this post on Facebook to show yourselves off… Many, many more to come.

Anyone who has tried to schedule a photo session or a meeting with me this fall has learned that I have taken off to Greece for three weeks of photographic education at its finest. Beginning in Greece, 7 of the world’s leading wedding photographers have collaborated in what is called the Grand Workshop. The 50 attendees from all over the world are learning new perspectives, strategies and techniques to bring home with us. The first day we split into groups and worked with each photographer, observed, and shot along with them. The second day we (my husband and I) got to put on our wedding clothes and we were on the other side of the camera as the models for the day. Not only was I so excited to get another opportunity to wear my wedding gown, but I loved the different perspective I gained by being posed and photographed by the world’s leading photographers. To experience the difference between having an interaction with the photographers or being photographed from a distance… to be posed with instruction or suggestion… and to realize first hand what it takes to get that little something extra after a long day of posing. I think this experience provided me with as much benefit as the day I spent behind the camera.
This workshop is proving to be a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to bring what I’m learning home with me to Cleveland! I will continue to update from these workshops, so stay tuned!
Here are some of my images from Day 1…

“Whan that Aprill with his shoures soote / The droghte of March hath perced to the roote, / And bathed every veyne in swich licour / Of which vertu engendred is the flour; / Whan Zephirus eek with his sweete breeth / Inspired hath in every holt and heeth / The tendre croppes, and the yonge sonne / Hath in the Ram his halve cours yronne, / And smale fowles maken melodye, / That slepen al the nyght with open ye / (So priketh hem nature in hir corages), / Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages.”
When Geoffrey Chaucer wrote these lines as the Prologue to his Canterbury Tales, he described spring’s renewal and rebirth. When I had to memorize this passage in 11th grade, I never expected to reference it again… This past weekend, Brooke and Brandon created their own tale at Canterbury Country Club in Beachwood, Ohio; only this version is not about nature’s renewal, but the start of their new life together.
I watched from afar as the bride grew up friends with my cousin, and was thrilled to be a part of the day. Capturing the romance of the wedding was not hard, as it flowed from every aspect of the wedding — Brooke’s dress, the candlelight, and most of all the interactions of the bride and groom.
While Chaucer’s story has lasted throughout the ages… Brooke and Brandon’s has only just begun. Here’s a glimpse of their wedding day…

Hi had such a great time yesterday photographing Martha, one of my photo students at Hathaway Brown. She’s obviously gorgeous, but has the personality to match! We had a lot of fun, and she was a great sport – even endured a piggy-back ride around Little Italy by your’s truly :-)
I love her photos because they really demonstrate who she is at this point in her life… check them out!
