As I walked into my office this morning, I looked around and got a huge smile on my face. I feel so lucky to get to do what I do for a living. Every day, I interact with wonderful people, and get to give them memories to hold onto. Every day, I get to do what I love… my hobby is my job, and I don’t take that for granted.
So, as Mother’s Day approaches, I think it’s so appropriate for me to say a big THANKS to all the mothers out there that make it possible for me to smile as I walk into work. Thank you for giving me the chance to enter your world and capture it as you see it; and thank you for allowing me to do what I love.

or your friends…but you can’t pick your family! Too bad…because I would love to be a part of this family just so that I could have their wall arrangement for myself without being creepy :) I have said this about many families that have come to our studio for portraits, but this particular set of  1″ gallery wrap canvases just says it all. It’s beautiful, it’s unique, it’s a piece of art, but most importantly it is THEIRS. It is theirs to hang in their home to enjoy and remember the moments that were shared that day. We enjoy what we do here at Kim Ponsky Photography because we (eventually) get to hand over priceless photographs to our clients that our so beautiful that we would hang them in our own homes. So PICK your favorite photos and have us make you an awesome arrangement so we can continue to envy the artwork that adorn your walls!

That was what this bride-to-be’s brother said when he saw the images from her engagement session!

We had so much fun exploring the secret spots of Cleveland during this photo shoot.  I figure, if you can be romantic in a building that’s threatening to fall down on your head… you’ve got a good thing going on!  This cloudy and rainy Cleveland day proved perfect for photos, and we got some great ones!

Interesting backgrounds and dramatic lighting (not to mention some Photoshop magic) can take a couple’s natural interaction, and transform it into an artistic image.  That’s what I love about these photos– they are edgy and modern, but they don’t miss the point — capturing the couple, their romance, and their excitement to spend the rest of their lives together.

People sometimes ask me what “Lifestyle Photography” is… well, this week I had a photo shoot that perfectly illustrated the term.  Remember Rich and Eileen?  We photographed their wedding at Walden in 2009 — See those images HERE!  Well, on Tuesday I had to honor and priveledge of meeting the newest member of their family… itty bitty Baby L.  This little princess was only 8 days old when she came to our studio for her newborn photo session.  She was the perfect combination of cute, squishy and sleepy!  We had such a great time, and got some amazing shots– It was extra fun for me to see Rich and Eileen transformed from Bride and Groom to Mom and Dad!  That’s what “Lifestyle Photography” means to me… getting to capture a couple when they begin their life together, and continue to capture it as they develop into a family.
