Georgia had a vision for her engagement photo session with Andy… snowy Shaker Heights outdoor photography fun! After weeks of checking in for forecast and schedule alignment, we finally had the perfect day for a weekend photo session complete with gorgeous snow flurries! The only catch? The wind chill was dropping… it was a whopping 7 degrees at the time of their photo shoot! They decided to brave the elements, and go for it! I was dressed for the arctic– but hey, it wasn’t my engagement shoot! We met at their home and moved quickly through poses in their yard and the Shaker Lakes, and they were such good sports. The good humor and playfulness of this couple warmed my heart, even as my hands threatened to fall off!! Georgia’s smile was so magnificent, and the two of them were so adorable together, that I would have liked to keep photographing them all day long! What’s a little frostbite??
Eventually we switched things up, and they warmed up inside with a cup of coffee… keeping their French doors to the back patio open, I stayed outside with plenty of distance, and they cozied up for the cutest and most natural looking photos. This photo shoot represented my favorite elements of my job… photographing a couple that had fun and maintained their playfulness in the photos — added an element of unpredictability to keep us on our [numb] toes — and produced the candid portraits that I have built my career around. The natural feel to these engagement photos are not only beautiful, but will allow Georgia and Andy to look back at the joy they have brought each other during a strange time.
