I spend most of my days getting to know the families that I photograph, and that’s one of my favorite parts of my job. How do I spend my days off? I turn things around, and photograph those I already know the best! Labor Day fun was kicked off with a photo shoot of my brother’s family. My three nieces are growing up in front of my camera, and while I take a ton pictures of them, we don’t often set out for a “real” photo shoot. The girls had a lot of opinions on what they would wear– I wanted them to feel like themselves, and coordinate the colors. I pushed for the bright colors, so they’d really stand out in the fields. The girls know all of my jokes, and don’t really think I’m funny anymore, so I had to work extra hard to fight past those fake picture smiles, and get their real personalities to show through. From jumping up and falling down, to standing on wobbly fences, they made me pull out all the stops! I loved every second of it, and can’t wait for their next photo shoot with Aunt Kim!
